About Our Founder

Don Mims began his journey in the hospitality industry as a hotel shuttle driver in Grapevine, Texas, at just 18 years old. During those early days, he quickly came to appreciate the value of human connection—how genuine interactions and personal care could transform a guest’s experience. This realization ignited a passion for hospitality that would shape his entire career.

With that passion as his foundation, Don moved through the ranks of the industry, taking on leadership and senior executive roles that enabled him to refine his skills, understand the nuances of hotel operations, develop his business acumen, and cultivate a deep commitment to employee satisfaction and workplace culture. Over time, his hands-on experience combined with a vision for what great hospitality could truly be. These experiences ultimately inspired him to launch Mims Consulting Group, a company dedicated to helping hospitality businesses achieve exceptional standards of service and operational excellence.
